So, what do you guys think of the new format? I kind of like posting things as I find them, but I think the weekly recap is still useful. And of course I’ll be posting the Recap Roundup on Thursday.

As an ardent ASoIaF fan I have been initially suspicious of GoT fearing a second TB. But the show pleasently surprised me and made me even like Dany for the first time. I am not overtly fond of the way they softened Catelyn but I can deal with that. Season 2 looks also very good so far and I am really looking forward towards seeing Stannis and Davos on screen. Have you read the books Thomas? Any chance that you are going to recap the show?
I also liked the TB trailer. I have often been on the edge of stoping to watch the show. TB is guilty of lame storylines, dumbing down of Sookie and semi-religious adoration of douche!Bill and his abusive relationship with Sookie. I also fear that I am never going to forgive the way Season 4 has damaged the beautiful Pam/Eric friendship which I enjoyed so much in the books. Yet TB also has created powerful scenes that are vastly superior to the books: The Godric/Sookie/Eric scene in S2 has been one of my top TV moments ever, the initial romance between Hoyth and Jessica was touching, Laf in S1 incredibly badass, all scenes between Lorena and Bill were powerful, Pam is awesome, Russell is a maniac in the best possible way, Tara and Franklin was very good Gothic horror etc.
Hi Sara,
No, I haven’t read the books. Everyone tells me they’re kind of depressing, and even if they weren’t, I’d want to make sure GRRM doesn’t die before he finishes the series. That would piss me off more than anything. And no, I just don’t have the time to recap another show.
It’s really frustrating how TB manages to add so many awesome moments, because it makes all the crap that much more painful. If they’d just cut out the garbage, they’d have an awesome show. But as it is…
