This Week on the Web brings a host of Vampire Diaries recaps, more Spider-Man photos, a new Wonder Woman, humans talking to dolphins, and more!

Vampire Diaries Recaps

Price Peterson,

Cindy McLennan, Television Without Pity

Erin, Entertainment OCD

Off Color TV

Meg, The Two Cents

Frankie Diane Mallis, First Novels Club

Pop Culture

What really happens in Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Everything in this video is one-hundred percent true, and it’s also the reason I’m going to be there opening night. (via Jennifer)

The Vampire Diaries – Blow Me Away: Fan video created by OneOnOne1162

New picture of Spider-Man in full costume: Yep, that sure is Spider-Man. Not wild about the gloves, but its a minor complaint. I like the texture on the costume.

Charlaine Harris: only two more Sookie Stackhouse novels: I enjoy the books, but I can understand wanting to move on to something else. Eleven books is a hell of a lot of words.

There’s a new Wonder Woman: For a David E. Kelly TV show.

Doctor Who infographic: so nice trivia about our favorite time traveler.

There’s a new Highlander on the way: By the writer of the Twilight screenplays.

Science & Technology

Biologists create human/dolphin language: Rumors that the first thing the dolphins said was “just wait until we evolve us some thumbs, land-monkey” remain unsubstantiated.

Cool Stuff

Cool optical illusion: Just in case you want that “oh god the walls are melting” feeling without the usual chemicals. (via Unreality)

Why Isn’t Wall Street in Jail? An excellent question, and one that should be answered. The people who caused the greatest financial disaster in our lifetimes are criminals, and they should be treated as such. (via <Boing Boing)

The heterosexual questionnaire: My favorite part? “The great majority of child molesters are heterosexuals. Do you really consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexual teachers?” (via The Friendly Atheist)

Swinging Corgi: Your weekly dose of squee. (via AJ Wiswell)

The benefits of Intermittent Fasting: Mark’s Daily Apple is a great site, and a lot of my current practices are related to the stuff he writes about. IF is one of my latest kicks.

Hee! Definite SQUEE! at the swinging corgi. I have three of them (although mine are Cardigans, not Pembrokes). Thanks for the link. Sooooo cute. 🙂

  2. Thomas says:

Don’t tell The Financee… she wants her own fleet of Corgum 🙂

  3. Dayna Barter says:

It’s the Potato Chip Syndrome: you can’t have just one. I may be picking up a fourth next weekend. 🙂

  4. Thomas says:

We’re going to be bankrupt lol

  5. The Fiancee says:

I DO want a fleet of Corgum! I’m planning to crochet them hats and start a sled dog team. If I have to live where it snows obscene amounts every winter, I may as well make the most of it.
    I submit:

  6. The Fiancee says:

Also, it has been a lifelong dream of mine to poke the Queen of England. What better way to get close enough to poke her than a Corgi playdate?

  7. Thomas says:

    Bankrupt, and then arrested. :-p

  8. The Fiancee says:

Oh quiet, Liz and I will be BFFs 😀

  9. The Fiancee says:

Wait, no, I’ll bet she goes by Betty.

  10. Dayna Barter says:

LOL. Always loved the corgi sled dog team. And there has been at least one Pembroke that earned a Shutzhund title. What the Pem lacks in height it makes up for in attitude.

I’m afraid I like my Corgis with tails though (the “Sweater Dogs”). Alas, I guess Liz and I are just not destined to be buds.

  11. Jennifer says:

Woohoo! This is my second time making it into TWOTW! I feel so honored…

  12. offcolortv says:

YAY! My first time making it, I’m so excited! (Also, glad I swung by and found out the Sookie books news–they’re so shitty and yet I love them and can’t stop reading them. My addiction will come to a forced end, yay!)

  13. Jess says:

I really loved the recap of Price Peterson.
But honnestly the one from Frankie Diane Mallis looks so much like yours o_o i couldnt read it i dunno… that’s weird.

Anyways, Charlaine Harris is a so great writer (not like LJ Smith, im in love with the show but the books… come on… let’s face it it’s total crap :o), the sookie stackhouse books were amazing, but yea, it’s prolly time to move on.

Thx for all the news, the spiderman pic is fabulous, i’m gonna make it a poster for my son he will be so glad with that 😀 have a great week end thomas (and the fiancee ofc!)

  14. DefineDelicate says:

Hey Thomas, do we know if Mary-Jane will be in the new Spider-Man or no? Just curious. I don’t know how I feel about the new Movie, because when I was younger, I loved the other Spider-Man movies, and a part of me thinks it’s to soon for another type of Spider-Man but from what I hear this movie’s suppose to be Darker. as a fan of the fanbase and all that, I will be seeing it but with Mix feelings I guess. I’mma try not to be biased though. go there with a open mind, but I’ve got to tell ya it’s gonna be hard. who knows though, maybe I’ll like it better then the originals? 🙂 could happen.

  15. Thomas says:

    Congratulations Jennifer 🙂

  16. Thomas says:

    Congrats offcolortv 🙂

I like the Southern Vampire Mysteries, sometimes better than the show, but the last book did feel kind of… forced. I’m of the opinion that it’s better to end on a high note, and if she’s just not feeling it any more, I totally support her in moving on. And they’ve got enough material for like ten seasons, anyway.

  17. Thomas says:

    Hey Jess 🙂

Price Peterson never fails to slay me. Frankie is good people… she was doing these recaps before she ever heard of me, same format and everything. The similarities are coincidental.

I agree re: Charlain Harris: good books, but probably time to move on.

That Spider-Man pic is amazing, isn’t it? 🙂

  18. Thomas says:

    Hey DefineDelicate 🙂

I think MJW will be in this movie, yes, but in a much smaller role than in the last trilogy. Gwen Stacy is the love interest this time around (and was the first love interest in the comics).

It does seem a bit early for a reboot, but if they can tell a good story, I say go for it. It’s not like the originals are going to disappear when they release this one. 😉

  19. Nicki says:

Lol at the Twilight video! You should check out this sights that’s equally as funny. It’s sometimes even funnier to read about than see, like the whole “A werewolf falls in love with a f*#@$%^ baby” lol. Thanks for the links. They were great!

  20. DefineDelicate says:

Oh! Yay its gonna be like the comics! That’s something I guess, Gwen had a horrible storyline in the other movies…then again didn’t she die in the comics? And it made Spider-man go out for reveage?

I wasn’t much a MJ&Peter shipper. She bugged me with the ‘Hey Tiger’ and the lovey dove stuff. I liked him with The Black Cat she was alot alike to Catwoman in Batman, though. So I’m biased on that.BC I love Catwoman but when I think about it, I get annoyed BC though they said their different you can’t really tell! So I’m really thrilled that Gwen’s chopsen for this movie.

Did you know Catwoman was casted for the Nolan Movie? If so what are your thoughts on Anne Hathaway being her? If this is to off topic I’m sorry! 🙂

  21. Thomas says:

    Hey DefineDelicate 🙂

Yeah, Gwen was killed in the comics. She was just as much a part of making Peter Parker the “real” Spider-Man as Uncle Ben was, really. This was all like 40 years ago, though. I’m not a huge Spider-Man fanboy, so as long as they tell an interesting story, I’ll be happy.

Yeah, I heard about Catwoman. Or at least Selena Kyle… that’s what the casting announcement said. I would have preferred a movie based on Prey, but Nolan hasn’t let us down yet, so I trust him.
